About the project
PROJECT: Creation of educational materials on the production, the processing and the marketing of meat from uncastrated or immunocastrated pigs.
DESCRIPTION:
The overall objective of the project is to promote public awareness on alternatives to pig castration and disseminate the results of the study titled “Best practices on the production, the processing and the marketing of meat from uncastrated pigs or pigs vaccinated against boar taint (immunocastrated)”. The key target groups as identified by DG SANTE include farmers, slaughterhouses, food processors and retailers.
The main tasks delivered for the project are the following:
- Design and development of 12 fact sheets (one general and 11 specific), their translation in 22 official European languages plus Russian and Chinese, the printing of factsheets (5.000 copies for each fact sheet, totalling 60.000 overall) and their physical distribution. This includes content, graphic design and layout.
- Production of one film (3-5 minutes), highlighting the content of the factsheets together with 2 000 USB keys distributed.
- Development of a detailed dissemination plan for maximising the impact of materials produced.
- Implementation of limited dissemination activities.
